A few years ago, National Geographic reported on the happiest places on earth. The author of
the cover article writes that he found places where three elements of happiness come together--pleasure, purpose, and pride.
You may think these elements come together in your town; maybe in your home. Or you may still be searching for factors that enable you to flourish.
My research suggests that happiness doesn't depend primarily on where we live. But it does depend to a great extent on how we build relationships that generate genuine pleasure. Happiness results when the trajectory of our lives is motivated by meaningful purpose and our world-and-life view goes beyond pride in ourselves in order to touch the lives of others in any number of ways.
Since happiness is so important to our lives, I invite you to take the time to investigate sources of satisfaction and experience deeply the thanksgiving and joy available to us.
