Did Christ Rise from the Grave?
Paul W. Swets
One of the most important questions to answer is "Did Jesus Christ really rise from the grave?" The Apostle Paul writes that if Jesus has not been raised, our faith in Christ is futile and we are still in our sins.
In the 40 days after the resurrection, Jesus appeared to multiple individuals and groups. Consider the report of the Apostle Paul:
"I delivered as of first importance what I also received that Christ died for our sins
in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried , that he was raised on the third day...
and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than
five hundred brothers at one time... Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.
Last of all,... he appeared to me."
1 Corinthians 15:3-8
Investigative reporter Lee Strobel writes in The Case for Christianity, "In all, we have nine ancient sources, inside and outside the New Testament, confirming the conviction of the disciples that they had encountered the risen Christ." p.123
If God exists as the creator of the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 121:2), then God is able to bring life from death. I believe Jesus is risen. Hallelujah!
